An advertising professional with a career spanning 24 years with TBWA, Rediffusion, Contract, Ogilvy andDDB Mudra, Anil has travelled the road to success the hard way. Born in a modest household from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, Anil comes from a family with an armed forces background.

Having grown up in different parts of the country, thanks to the defence background, Anil’s understanding of the real Indian way of life is reflected in his style of writing stories and songs. With a firm Uttar Pradesh grounding in Hindi, and a close observer of the real Indian life in the hinterland, Anil believes writing takes on a different flavour when stories are written in Hindi. Having worked as a Creative Head for some the most well-established Advertising agencies, his Ads, jingles, and TV commercials are soul touching.

This led to an invitation from the Indian film industry and his debut came in the form of writing situational songs for the acclaimed Ajay Devgan starrer ‘Tanhaji, the unsung Warrior’. All the three songs for the film, ‘Ghamand kar’, ‘Shankara’ and ‘Tinak Tinak’ went on to become super hits. Anil also delivered hits in ‘The Big Bull’ and ‘BHUJ’ and was recently recognised as the ‘Emerging Lyricist of 2022 in Radio mirchi awards. His work songs from Tanhaji were nominated in Filmfare awards 2022.

He recently co-authored a best selling book, The Puppeteer’ with his friend Ajit Menon which soon is going to be made into a feature film. He is also co-authoring 5 more books with Ajit Menon. Also, two books in Hindi apart from scripting of various feature films.

He is a great grandson of a famous writer, Dr. Vrindavan Lal Verma whose Novels like Jhansi ki rani and Mrignayani are known world over.
